MCA Biennial TAX Conference 2013

TAX 2013The Minerals Council of Australia is pleased to announce that the 2013 MCA Tax Conference will be held in Brisbane from Monday 15 to Wednesday 17 April. The biennial conference is the nation’s premier event focussing on minerals taxation issues. It attracts resource taxation experts, policy makers, leading business figures, officials and high-profile commentators providing a forum to discuss and debate the key taxation challenges facing the Australian minerals industry.

Topics to be addressed include:

  • The Mining Boom: Onward or over?
  • Tax reform post the Business Tax Working Group
  • The changing role of Tax Managers in the mining industry
  • The mining industry’s areas of focus for the ATO
  • What next for the Minerals Resource Rent Tax?
  • Tax payments and transparency: The international dimension

The Conference aims to upgrade the skills of minerals company taxation specialists and related finance, legal and accounting professionals and will also feature dedicated sessions on specific minerals taxation topics including: tax consolidation, GST issues, the R&D tax incentive and transfer pricing.

The Conference will be held at the Sofitel Brisbane Hotel. To accommodate delegates from the west coast, the conference program will commence after lunch on Monday 15 April.
